Olivia Wilde is back with her latest directorial outing, The Invite, also starring alongside Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruze, and Edward Norton. Last night Cineworld Unlimited members got to enjoy an early screening – and it turns out it’s really, really funny.
When two couples come together for a dinner party, they unexpectedly tread into unfamiliar territory. Joe and Angela’s marriage is on the rocks, and this could be the very thing that makes or breaks them.
Find out what other Cineworlders thought of The Invite and get yourself an Unlimited membership so you can be one of the first to watch new releases early. Unlimited works out, on average, as the price of two cinema tickets a month. You also get discounts on cinema snacks and drinks, as well as on your meal at our partner restaurants.
Sometimes the films you expect the least from turn out to be the biggest surprises, and The Invite certainly seems to be ticking the box for Unlimited members like Charlie, Michael, and Conor.
brilliant comedy, did not expect that at all! Hit every spot, great acting and beautifully shot. Would recommend!

Brilliant, I loved it. The trailer doesn’t do the film justice at all.

Olivia Wilde really made the most of an intimate set that had The Invite feeling claustrophobic, reminiscent of watching something on the stage.
Loved it. Tightly directed screwball comedy with four terrific performances and sparkling dialogue, hilariously uncomfortable viewing at times and went places I didn’t expect. Felt almost like a stage play.

The film really makes the most of it's enclosed setting and small cast, really making you feel entrapped in this awkward and uncomfortable situation. There's some really witty writing and banter between the characters, Rogan especially got a lot of laughs.

Olivia Wilde’s performance really stands out, no easy feat when next to the rest of her ensemble cast.

The Invite is just genuinely funny. Alongside Letterboxd review Leo’s earlier confession about laughing really quite loudly, Harv also calls this the funniest film they’ve ever watched.
one of the funniest films i’ve ever watched, brilliant

Honestly, we couldn’t agree with Lauren more. We need good movies to break up the way life being life’ing right now.

The Invite arrives at Cineworld on 3rd July, and you can book your tickets now.
