K-pop artists are back taking over Cineworld, with a heavy dose of rock 'n' roll for good measure. You can also book your tickets for another incredible production from National Theatre Live, with honorary national treasure Sandra Oh.
Each month, Cineworld brings an eclectic mix of shows from around the world – spanning opera, pop icons and heavy metal – to cinemas across the UK. Here’s what’s coming up soon.

Turandot on Sydney Harbour (Re-release) (5th August)
Return to openair opera from the comfort of your cinema seat with this Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour production. From 25-metre dragons to a 20-metre pagoda, this chinese tale brings together acrobatics with contemporary cinema, and features incredible musical numbers from world-class singers.
ATEEZ: LIGHT THE WAY IN CINEMAS (6th August)
The first K-pop boy band to perform at Coachella are landing at Cineworld with their unique VR concert reimagined for cinema. The premise? ATEEZ are sent a mysterious message that sees them wander through a dreamlike wasteland to a collapsing Dark City covered in smog. With performances of some of their biggest hits including “BOUNCY (K-HOT CHILLI PEPPERS)” and “Ice On My Teeth”, ATEEZ: LIGHT THE WAY also includes never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage of the band.

André Rieu's 2026 Summer Concert: Viva Maastricht! (8th August)
André Rieu is a violinist and showman who is much loved by millions around the world for his hugely popular, highly enjoyable open-air summer concerts. With its crossover of classical music and crowd-pleasing favourites, his open-air concerts have been bringing joy for 20 years. To celebrate, this summer he’s staging a spectacular concert in a square in his hometown of Maastricht that’s guaranteed to get the whole town dancing.
To be part of the experience, book a seat with the perfect view and hear every exquisite note loudly and clearly at Cineworld when it broadcasts the 2-hour 45-minute show on 8th August.

Nimrods: A Green Day Comedy (11th August)
A coming-of-age roadtrip movie starring Mason Thames, McKenna Grace amongst others, amateur band Analog Dogs travel to LA under the false pretense that they’ve been given the opportunity to open for Green Day during their early career, years before the release of Dookie. Soundtracked by a collection of songs from across Green Day’s career, it will also include a brand new song, “I’m Never Gonna R.I.P.”.

KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS (12th August)
EYEKONS can witness the evolution of KATSEYE in this brand new documentary film, charting the success of the girl band from their beginnings in the Dream Academy right up to entering their new WILD era. Including footage from some of their biggest performances and behind the scene, candid footage and interviews, above all the documentary is a testament to the close bond between KATSEYE and its global fanbase.

James: Getting Away with It + Live Performance (17th August)
Deep dive into one of Britain’s most unlikely bands of the 1980s and 90s. Forming in Manchester, James brought together a haggle of misfits who weren’t afraid to forge their own path. Declining to open for The Smiths, they also shut down a deal with Factory Records. Landing on their feet, they broke through with Sit Down. All of this against the usual rock ‘n’ roll dysfunction that saw them break up only to reunite in 2007. Charting their 40 year career, Chris Atkins brings you James.
GHOST: 2 Big To Rig (26th August)
Experience the 2 BIG TO RIG tour with performances from GHOST’s sellout shows in Mexico City. A phone-free gig, this is the only way to see the SKELETOUR, shot on 16mm film, and including behind-the-scenes footage of Papa V Perpetua and his band of Nameless Ghouls. Watch it in IMAX at Cineworld.

La Traviata on Sydney Harbour (Re-release) (2nd September)
The 2021 recording of this truly extravagant show is a spectacle worth seeing at the cinema. Verdi’s La Travitata is performed in the iconic setting of Sydney Harbour down under, bringing together a 3.5 ton chandelier featuring 10,000 Swarovski crystals, serenaded by romantic arias, as well as dance performances.
National Theatre Live: The Misanthrope (22nd September)
Mother Sandra Oh is coming to the big screen as Cineworld is treated to another National Theatre Live screening. This dark comedy follows novelist Alice, who deeply resents modern society and the lies it has constructed. As she preaches from her soap box, though, she faces increasing backlash. Also starring Tom Mison, Paul Chahidi, and Abigail Cruttenden.
GIANT - The Play (19th November)
John Lithgow is the celebrated children’s writer Roald Dahl as he comes up against controversy for his explicitly antisemitic views shared in a published article. Set over the course of summer in 1983, The Witches is due to be published, but the backlash shows no sign of quietening down. Dahl must choose between an apology or risking his reputation. Darkly funny, see Roald Dahl as you’ve never seen him before.
