From little ‘uns to nans, there’s a film for everyone this summer. When school ends, you’ll be racing to your nearest Cineworld to catch the best family films of the year.
The big family movies this summer? The unmissable Spider-Man, Toy Story 5 and Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie!
Lots of franchises are releasing sequels or remakes, and honestly, watching them will be like spending time with family. For example, live-action Moana is wowing audiences and fans, while famous web-slinger Spidey is all but forgotten in Spider-Man: Brand New Day and has to fight a villain that no one can see.
Toy Story 5 is guaranteed to please the whole family, treating us to a tech-versus-toys tale. It’s lots of fun, and gorgeous to see Woody and the gang again. And it’s sure to bring up lots for discussion afterwards! Meanwhile, Minions & Monsters in a tale of meddling and mayhem in the movie world will leave you chuckling. And can Supergirl be any more of a reluctant hero as her journey gets ever more interstellar?
Tinies will adore Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie and the tale of a hidden island and a baby dino called Rex. Meanwhile, an evil mayor and a volcano threaten the island, which the pups must save!
Celebrate summer with your friends Wallace and Gromit, Shaun the Sheep and the Aardman gang
Summer 2026 at the cinema is turning out to be a very special one indeed as our favourite UK animators, Aardman Animations, are holding a film season, with new films screening over the holidays.
BOOK £2 FAMILY FILM AARDMAN TICKETS
If you’ve never seen an Aardman movie on the big screen, then you’re in for a treat. After all, there’s so much hilarious detail to see in each shot, and seeing their facial expressions and quirks coming to life impacts even more at a bigger scale.
Book a £2 Family Film in the Aardman film season. Adult and children’s tickets are £2 each, but adults must be with at least one child. We think Wallace would approve – you can’t say fairer than that, Gromit!
The season starts off with a double bill, showing the stories where it all began. Inventor Wallace and his much more intelligent dog, Gromit, set off on a Grand Day Out in search of cheese. And where else to look for it but on the moon? Mad-cap rocket-building ensues…
The second instalment is The Wrong Trousers; robotic trousers and an evil penguin disguised as a chicken are the ingredients of this could-only-be-made-in-Britain story. Then, screened as a double bill, check out tickets for Grand Day Out/The Wrong Trousers .
Enjoy a rollicking good story mash-up of pirates and scientists in feature-length The Pirates! In An Adventure, while in Early Man, we meet caveman Dug and his sidekick Hognob as they wrangle with the Bronze Age.
Another double bill with Wallace and Gromit in A Close Shave/A Matter of Loaf and Death, with romantic adventures and sheep-rustling keeping our heroes busy. Meanwhile, poultry favourite Chicken Run sees the birds try and make their great escape.
Tasked with solving the mystery of wrecked gardens in Curse of the Were-Rabbit, it’s Wallace and Gromit to the rescue in time for the giant vegetable growing competition. All oversized veg must be saved!
For Flushed Away, Aardman teamed up with DreamWorks for this tale of two rats on opposite sides of the tracks and a stellar voice cast of Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen and Kate Winslet.
Finally, it’s Shaun in the spotlight. You have the chance to watch the best sheep ever on the big screen in Shaun The Sheep Movie as our woolly lead takes the day off to relax and ends up in Big City in all sorts of scrapes. And in Shaun The Sheep: Farmageddon, Mossy Bottom Farm meets aliens in an intergalactic adventure for Shaun and the flock.

Go big this summer with a 4DX and SCREENX screening
Enjoy a premium cinema experience with Cineworld’s exclusive special formats with sea-faring adventure Moana in 4DX. Feel the giant waves through your seat, as well as mist and wind as though you were on the ship next to Moana.
A screen like 4DX is great at capturing the aerial action you see in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Fast seat tilts and wind effects will carry you along as Spidey dives through the city. Vibrations and air blasts during fight scenes take you to the centre of the action.
Those flying scenes will hit even harder in SCREENX. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the first film ever to be filmed for SCREENX, with a special film team working with the director on set to capture extra shots, making this a seamless world-extending experience.
