It’s been a long wait to find out what Peter Parker has been up to since the world-changing events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, but Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now screening at a Cineworld near you.
Following No Way Home, which brought Spider-Man's eclectic cinematic history together for an unbelievable, dimension-crossing story, the whole world as we know it now has no recollection of Peter Parker, or who is behind the mask. This led to some heartbreaking goodbyes as Peter realised that without his closest friends to lean on, he would need to chart a new path in life. It’s a daunting prospect, but as comic book fans know, practically nothing about Spider-Man’s life has ever been easy.

Unfortunately, things aren’t about to slow down anytime soon as the next MCU film on our slate is none other than Avengers: Doomsday which, as you can see from the trailer below, promises a multiversal team-up like never before.
With that in mind, here are the three reasons why you need to get down to Cineworld to catch Spider-Man: Brand New Day ahead of Avengers: Doomsday.
This could be a final hurrah before the MCU changes forever
As you may have already guessed even before seeing the trailer, the next Avengers film is finally bringing Doctor Doom into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Played by none other than Robert Downey Jr himself, Doom is a major player in the world of Marvel, and his appearance usually spells… well, doom, and for a lot of characters. The fact that Thor, with his axe and thunder behind him, seems to have no effect on Doom whatsoever, should spell things out pretty clearly that our heroes are in for a rough time.
What’s more, MCU head honcho Kevin Feige has teased that the MCU will look very different after Doomsday’s follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars, which is set to release in 2027. The word “soft reboot” has been thrown around in discussions about what it all means, and while we won’t know for certain until Secret Wars hits our screens, what does seem to be the case is that Spider-Man: Brand New Day is our last chance to experience the MCU as we’ve known it to be.
Aside from Spider-Man himself, the film brings back Ned and MJ, alongside a whole roster of heroes including The Punisher and Bruce Banner/Hulk. It’s a fantastical take on New York to be sure, but it’s one that we’re all familiar with and is strangely comforting for fans who have been following the franchise ever since the very first Iron Man film. Before things get out of hand, here’s your chance to appreciate it all one last time.
Sadie Sink’s all-important mystery character
Even though Brand New Day features a whole host of MCU favourites, including Bruce Banner and notably The Punisher (played so brilliantly by Jon Bernthal) who makes his cinematic debut here, so much of the online chatter surrounding the film has been about Sadie Sink’s mystery character.
There is no shortage of fan theories out there but now that we’ve seen the film and her identity has been confirmed, it’s fair to say that her very presence in Brand New Day is a major factor in where the MCU might go in the future. We won’t spoil anything beyond that!
Will Spider-Man be in Doomsday? Brand New Day seems to have the answer
One of the very first announcements we saw about Avengers: Doomsday was the full list of heroes that would appear in the film. The initial video went on for about five and a half hours (so almost two screenings of The Odyssey), but you can watch a sped-up version below.
Although the video contained big names like Chris Hemsworth, Florence Pugh and Pedro Pascal, there were a few notable omissions including Benedict Cumberbatch, Mark Ruffalo and of course, Tom Holland.
Again, we won’t spoil too much here in order to keep all the surprises intact, but if you’re wondering whether or not Brand New Day confirms Spider-Man’s presence in Doomsday, we recommend making sure that you stay in your seat to catch the after-credits. It’s almost guaranteed to get the Spidey-senses tingling.
