Clint Eastwood is more than a mere actor and director. He's a 60-year embodiment of cinematic craft whose big-screen iconography has continued to evolve in fascinating ways. From his early days in Sergio Leone's Dollars trilogy to his Magnum-blasting turn in the Dirty Harry franchise and his resurgence as an Oscar-winning filmmaker with Unforgiven (1992), Eastwood has both played up to and subverted his granite-faced image.
Eastwood doesn't give himself a starring role in his latest directorial project, Juror #2, but it embodies all the moral concerns that preoccupy him as a filmmaker. In the manner of Eastwood's acclaimed dramas Mystic River (2003) and Million Dollar Baby (2004), both Oscar winners in their own right, Juror #2 is a disquieting interrogation of morality and human decency in the face of unexpected circumstances.
Nicholas Hoult (soon to be seen in Robert Eggers' Nosferatu) takes the lead as serving jury member Justin Kemp, observing a complex murder trial. Before long, Kemp realises that he is implicated in the events about which he is compelled to stay neutral and must make a decision. Does he send the alleged culprit down and preserve the family life with his wife and newborn child, or come clean and risk everything?
Toni Collette, J.K. Simmons and Kiefer Sutherland round out the excellent cast of Eastwood's latest, which is rumoured to be his last. Lucky Unlimited members were treated to a preview ahead of the film's general release. What was their verdict? Scroll down to read their responses and book your tickets at the end of this post.
I really enjoyed the film overall. The acting was fantastic, the story set up was brilliantly thought out, it almost reassembles to 12 Angry Men but with more of a crime setting dialogue. It is a watch the film for yourself movie. Overall Score: 9/10! Grade: A! 😁😁😁

A great steady build up and great work from all the cast.
If this is to be Clint Eastwoods last Film as a Director it is a worthy swan song.
Good film. All the characters are very well-written and well-performed. Nicholas Hoult in particular is a phenomenal actor! I also found the moral nuance and the varying perspectives on the legal system thought-provoking.

An excellent court room drama that had a nice flow and I was pleasantly surprised the direction the film took. Great direction as usual from Clint Eastwood and some superb performances. Well worth checking out. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Eastwood’s best film in years. A really solid gripping Courtroom drama. Reminded me of a 90s thriller. Strong ensemble cast with a particularly powerful and nuanced performance from Nicholas Hoult. Kept me guessing right to the end.

An interesting look at the mystic system in the States and at moral quandaries people face.
If it is Clint Eastwood's final film as director it's a good one to go out on.
