The End of Oak Street will stomp onto the screen in IMAX, 4DX, SCREENX, Superscreen

It isn’t picture perfect suburbia for long. Following a mysterious cosmic event, the Platt family slowly realise something is different about their white picket fence neighbourhood. In fact, their entire street has been transported elsewhere, potentially back in time – very far back in time.

Booked and busy, Anne Hathaway stars alongside Ewan McGregor as Denise and Greg Platt, while their children Audrey and Brian are played by Maisy Stella and Christian Convery.

Not so much walking with dinosaurs as fleeing from them, the family must attempt to survive in their entirely unrecognisable surroundings. The End of Oak Street will be released at Cineworld on 14th August, with a special preview screening taking place on 10th August for Unlimited members. Releasing in all special formats, we’re here to help you choose how to watch The End of Oak Street.

Relocate your screen to IMAX for The End of Oak Street

It’s the biggest screen in the cinema, and some of the biggest names in Hollywood are in the cast. It’s a match made in heaven. Why not see them absolutely terrorised as they find their otherwise quiet suburbia overrun with dinosaurs?

Not simply optimised for IMAX, The End of Oak Street is a Filmed for IMAX release, featuring 44 minutes of IMAX’s Expanded Aspect Ratio, drawing you in more intimately to every terrifying detail as the Platt family attempts to survive prehistoric challenges. There really is no other format to watch The End of Oak Street in, then, with a custom sound mix tailored for the most impactful viewing experience of David Robert Mitchell’s The End of Oak Street.

What’s that coming over the hill? It’s The End of Oak Street in 4DX

If our experience of watching Jurassic World: Rebirth was anything to go by, witnessing The End of Oak Street in 4DX is sure to be a ride. This extreme cinema experience appeals to almost all of your senses, meaning your chair will rumble with the approach of a blood thirsty dinosaur, with plenty of flinging around in your seat in store as they attack.

4DX screenings also include water and wind effects, as well as some strobe lighting, and scents permeating the room.

Dinosaurs tear across SCREENX showings of The End of Oak Street

Alongside 4DX, SCREENX is an exclusive format to Cineworld in the UK, offering a unique 270º projection that completely absorbs you in the action. You’ll feel like you’re hurtling down Oak Street alongside Hathaway, McGregor and the rest of the suburb's inhabitants with the screen stretching out onto the walls either side of your seat.

A dinosaur worthy sized screen with Superscreen

Don’t have an IMAX screen near you? Why not opt for Cineworld’s Superscreen, offering a ginormous screen to take in these prehistoric monsters. Superscreen stretches from wall-to-wall, floor to ceiling and is supported with Dolby Atmos speakers, so you can hear both the shrieks of the aforementioned dinosaurs and those they’re hunting.
