The Gallagher brothers’ beef is part of the Oasis lore; the press followed their decades-long feud onstage and off. Whether creative differences, sibling rivalry, personality clash or all of the above, the brothers’ battles didn’t stand in the way of some of rock history’s most iconic songs.
Oasis created some of the greatest rock and roll music of all time. The bickering and battling, their working-class roots, and constant warring were all part of it. Oasis were the spectacle of the 1990s and 2000s. We loved Cool Britannia and Britpop and asked who was better: Blur or Oasis?
We took on the Gallaghers’ backstory as if it was our own – from sharing a bedroom in a council house in Manchester to conquering the world, musically at least. When they split in 2009, we can’t say we didn’t see it coming. Some might say it was the only way it was going to end.
Years passed, and it was as though Oasis were assigned to rock history and would stay there. Then in 2024, after Liam’s hints on social media and his dedication of a song to Noel at Reading Festival, it looked like the band were getting back together.
Oasis were touring: this was Live 25. It was a record-breaking, multi-million-dollar-earning tour with sell-out shows worldwide.
If you were among the legions who couldn’t get a ticket, then come to Cineworld and watch footage of their tour in a new documentary, Don’t Look Back in Anger, out on 11 September. Along with backstage and onstage footage of the Live 25 tour, you’ll also get the chance to see the brothers being interviewed together for the first time in 15 years. Not to be missed.
