I scream, you scream for Summerween – movies to watch at Cineworld that will give you a chill during the heatwave

The concept of Summerween isn’t a new one, but lovers of autumn and all things Halloween are jumping on the trend to fast track their way back to the chillier, creepier months. Especially during the heatwave we’re having in the UK, we can practically hear the autumn lovers hissing away from the sun. And there’s no better place than Cineworld to cool off from a heatwave, embrace the aircon, and be scared witless.

Horror movies certainly aren’t isolated to the end of October either, with plenty of terrifying tales to get into during the summer months. Here are our suggestions on what to watch at Cineworld this Summerween – as well as a few upcoming horror movies to have on your radar over the remainder of the summer.

Obsession (screening now)

A fable if ever we’ve seen one, Obsession is what happens when you can’t accept unrequited love. Curry Barker’s trailblazing horror sees Bear make a wish on a “One Wish Willow” for his crush to love him back. Turns out she doesn’t just fall in love with him, she becomes fatally obsessed with him, leading Bear to discover that desire can come at a dark, sinister price.

Evil Dead Burn (screening now)

It may not sound like the kind of title that’ll bring down the temperature, but you best believe there will be plenty or aircon in your local Cineworld when watching the next instalment of the Evil Dead saga, Evil Dead Burn. Even better, you can book to watch Evil Dead Burn in 4DX, allowing you to benefit from the wind machine, as well as water and light effects, a moving chair, and scents as a new character faces the fallout of her in-laws turning into murderous Deadites.
