Eli Roth’s Ice Cream Man hits the sweet spot at Secret Screaming preview – read the reviews!

What’s more terrifying than a film making you afraid of grabbing yourself a sweet treat? Honestly, it doesn’t bear thinking about. But that’s exactly what Eli Roth’s new horror movie Ice Cream Man does. When the titular ice cream man shows up in an idyllic suburb, the children queue up and, ultimately, turn into homicidal monsters – and we’re not just talking about every parent’s worst nightmare: a sugar crash.

Arriving at Cineworld on 7th August, attendees of our latest Secret Screaming got  a preview screening of Ice Cream Man a few days before its official release, and this is what they thought.

Cheesy special effects are a trademark of a B-movie, bringing the “so bad, it’s good” energy for an enjoyable, fun watch. And many other attendees of the Secret Screaming for the Ice Cream Man agreed. And there were some surprising twists to add the cherry on top of the cake, too.

Public Service Announcement from Lorna: sometimes movies don’t have to be serious. Sometimes they can be silly and slapstick, and it’s all about the laughs and the good times.

Second PSA! Make sure you stay in your seats for that end credit scene.

We’re glad to hear you enjoyed it, too, Chris!

To be honest, considering our reservations about Ice Cream Man ruining one of our favourite sweet treats, we’re actually relieved to hear this is a funny, gory movie.

Sometimes you just need a daft and fun movie, y’know?

And, lastly, to Brad who couldn’t make the Secret Screaming, we hope you enjoy your screening of Ice Cream Man this weekend – and that you can make it to our next SS!

And, as with any self-respecting slasher movie, the deaths are pretty spectacular.
