The course of true love never did run smooth – and when you make a wish on a magical bone, you can’t be surprised when things getting a little dark and weird. That’s exactly the premise of the upcoming horror movie Obsession, to put it lightly.
Created by Curry Barker, famous for his YouTube shorts with Cooper Tomlinson, Obsession is his first mainstream film, and it arrives at Cineworld on 15th May.

What is the supernatural horror Obsession about?
What lengths will you go to receive the affection of the one you desire? Bear decides to go all in on gift giving as his love language and intends to buy a gift for his co-worker, Nikki, at the music store. While browsing, he comes across something called a “One Wish Willow”. It promises to grant one wish, and – yep, you’ve guessed it – he wishes for Nikki to love him more than anyone else in the world.
Of course, making that kind of wish is never straightforward – and this is a supernatural horror, afterall. Cue Nikki becoming absolutely consumed by Bear – and other haunting things happening.
When will Obsession be released in the UK?
It’s been a long anticipated release, but Obsession will be released at Cineworld on 15th May.

Curry Barker shared that he was inspired by an episode of The Simpsons, in which Bart happens upon a monkey paw with supernatural capabilities, and chaos ensues.
