Moving new comedy-drama Military Wives screened in advance for Cineworld Unlimited members, offering a special sneak peek at the new Kristin Scott Thomas-Sharon Horgan movie.
The film is directed by The Full Monty's Peter Cattaneo, and is a dramatised take on the formation of the UK's first military wives choir. Kristin Scott Thomas plays the somewhat prim Kate, who must work with her polar opposite, the bubbly Lisa, to form a voice choir for the spouses of the men serving in Afghanistan. They hope this will take the wives' minds off the situation, but learning to work together is a different matter entirely.
So what did Unlimited members make of the movie? We'll start with this from Emma @The Movies.
I loved Military Wives, I’m a sucker for anything with singing. Just trying to rehydrate after all the crying.

Neil says it's not just an emotional movie, but also an important one that reflects the realities of our armed forces, and their families.
Loved it. Thought it’d just be my wife’s thing, but I found it touching, poignant, tearful, happy, toe-tapping and just generally warm and inspiring. Thoroughly recommend, and a great look at how families of our forces manage knowing they’re at risk.

And Jen says the movie was the best kind of surprise: not a film she was anticipating with any great excitement, but one that turned out to be emotional and funny.
Really lovely surprise watching #MilitaryWives @cineworld tonight. Very touching and funny too. Not something I’d have seen without my Unlimited card and not something I went in particularly excited about if I’m honest. Very happy to say I was proved wrong! pic.twitter.com/U8WdJ4l5t1
