Terms, privacy & legal

Here are the Cineworld terms and conditions, privacy information and legal notices for all the services we provide. They are subject to change and can be updated on a regular basis.

1. T&Cs for Memberships starting on or after 2nd October 2024

1. Welcome to Cineworld’s Unlimited Membership Scheme (for Members who joined on or after 2nd October 2024)

1.1 Please read the following terms and conditions (as amended from time to time, the “Terms”) carefully as they contain details about how the Unlimited Membership Scheme works, the enrolment process, payment options, what’s included and what’s not included in your Unlimited Membership, how long your Unlimited Membership lasts, applicable restrictions, and more. Please note that the Unlimited Membership requires a minimum commitment of at least three months. We draw your attention to section 9 which explains how and when you can terminate your Unlimited Membership and section 13 which explains how we limit our liability to you.

1.2 These Terms and the Privacy Policy apply to the Cineworld Unlimited Membership Scheme and your Unlimited Membership if you joined on or after 2nd October 2024. You will be required to confirm that you agree to be bound by these Terms during the purchase process. These Terms do not affect your statutory legal rights.

1.3 If your current Unlimited Membership started before 2nd October 2024 the Unlimited Card Conditions (and not these Terms) apply to your Unlimited Membership and are available to read here.

1.4 Cineworld may change these Terms and increase Membership Fees from time to time as described in section 8 below.

1.5 These Terms were last updated on 2nd October 2024. We recommend that you save a copy of these Terms for future reference.

The above terms and policies are available online from the App and the Cineworld Website at https://www.cineworld.co.uk/static/en/uk/terms and on request from the Unlimited Helpline. No other terms proposed by you shall apply to our agreement with you for your Unlimited Membership.

4. Application Process and Your Minimum Term

4.1 You may apply for an Unlimited Membership for yourself by completing your application on the App or the Cineworld Website. You may have only one Unlimited Membership at any time and you may not apply for an Unlimited Membership for anyone else.

4.2 Cineworld will process your application and will confirm whether or not your application has been completed on screen in the App or on the Cineworld Website. Alternatively, Cineworld may decline all or part of your application at its discretion, in which case Cineworld will notify you as soon as practicable. By way of example only, we may decline your application if the pricing displayed on the App or the Cineworld Website is incorrect at the time of your application, where we have previously terminated your Unlimited Membership for breach of these Terms or for legal or regulatory reasons.

4.3 Your Unlimited Membership will only start when Cineworld confirms acceptance of your application by sending you a confirmation email and issues details of your digital Unlimited Card in your Account. You expressly request that your Unlimited Membership starts immediately from your receipt of our confirmation email.

4.4 You understand that by purchasing an Unlimited Membership, you are committing to pay the full Membership Fee for the full duration of the Minimum Term and will not receive any refund of pre-paid Membership Fees except as expressly stated in section 9 (Termination by You).

4.5 During the application process you will choose from one of three payment options for your Minimum Term:

(i) Pay Monthly Plan;

(ii) Pay Upfront (3 months) Plan; or

(iii) Pay Upfront (12 months) Plan.

4.6 Whichever payment option your choose under section 4.5, at the end of the Minimum Term, unless you tell us you don’t want your Unlimited Membership to continue after the Minimum Term (see section 9.13 below for how to do this), your Unlimited Membership will automatically renew and continue on a month-to-month basis. Upon renewal, you will be charged monthly in accordance with section 7 of these Terms until your Unlimited Membership is cancelled.

5. Unlimited Membership Groups and Unlimited Cards

5.1 There are five (5) different Unlimited Memberships to choose from, each covering a different group of Cineworld Cinemas (Unlimited Membership Group). Membership Fees differ depending on the Unlimited Membership Group included within your Unlimited Membership. You can use your Unlimited Card as standard at the Cineworld Cinemas included in the Unlimited Membership Group you choose for your Unlimited Membership. You may also use your Unlimited Card at other Cineworld Cinemas not included in your Unlimited Membership Group by paying an Uplift for each visit.

The five (5) Unlimited Membership Groups are:

(i) Group 5: includes all Cineworld Cinemas in the UK, Channel Islands and Republic of Ireland including Dublin and London Leicester Square;

(ii) Group 4: includes all Cineworld Cinemas in the UK and Channel Islands, including London Leicester Square;

(iii) Group 3: includes all Cineworld Cinemas in the UK and Channel Islands, excluding London Leicester Square;

(iv) Group 2: includes the Cineworld Cinemas listed as Group 1 and Group 2 Cineworld Cinemas on the Cineworld Website here: Unlimited Membership Group 2 and Unlimited Membership Group 1;

(v) Group 1: includes the Cineworld Cinemas listed as Group 1 Cineworld Cinemas on the Cineworld Website here: Unlimited Membership Group 1.

Click here to see the full list of Cineworld Cinemas included within each Unlimited Membership Group. The Unlimited Membership Group allocation of any Cineworld Cinemas as well as the number, location and opening hours of Cineworld Cinemas in any Unlimited Membership Group may change during your Unlimited Membership.

5.2 The Unlimited Membership Group you choose during the application process will be detailed in the confirmation email (see section4.3). Once your Unlimited Membership has started, your Unlimited Membership Group can only be changed by contacting the Unlimited Helpline.

5.3 Red Standard and Black Premium Unlimited Cards

(i) Red Card: At the start of your Unlimited Membership your digital Unlimited Card will be red (Red Card). You can use it to obtain cinema tickets as described in section 6 below and also enjoy some additional discounts and offers available to Members with Red Cards as and when such additional discounts and offers are made available.

(ii) Black Card: If you continue your Membership for more than 12 months (and all Membership Fees have been paid up to date) your Unlimited Card will be upgraded to a digital black premium Card (Black Card). With the Black Card you’ll be able to obtain cinema tickets as described in section 6 below and also enjoy the offers and discounts made available to Members with Red Cards (see section 5.3(i) above) plus additional discounts and offers made available only to Unlimited Members with Black Cards.

5.4 Offers for Subscribers with Red Cards and Black Cards (Offers). Details of Offers may be published in the App, on the Cineworld Website, in Cineworld Cinemas or in our communications to you about your Unlimited Membership and in our marketing communications. To claim any Offers, you must show your valid digital Unlimited Card at the appropriate Cineworld Cinema box office or Ticket and Concession Stand, or as otherwise explained in the terms of the relevant Offers. Additional terms may apply to the Offers and will be notified to you at the time and/or published in the App or on the Cineworld Website. The Offers are discretionary and may be withdrawn or amended by Cineworld and/or our Unlimited Partners at any time without notice. See sections 15 to 17 for further details about Unlimited Member Offers.

5.5 Your photograph. During the application process you will be asked to provide a passport style head and shoulders photograph of yourself. This photograph will be displayed on the Unlimited Card and will be used for identification and fraud prevention purposes. You must ensure the photograph is a clear and true likeness of you (and only you) as any inappropriate or out of date images may invalidate your Unlimited Card. The photograph may only be changed by contacting the Unlimited Helpline and may not be changed or replaced during the three-month or one-year (as applicable) Minimum Term of your Unlimited Membership.

5.6 No Sharing. Your Unlimited Membership and the Unlimited Card are for your own personal use and must not be transferred to or shared with anyone else. You are the only person entitled to use your Unlimited Card and it may not be used to obtain tickets or benefits for anyone else or for commercial purposes.

5.7 Validity. Your Unlimited Card will be valid from the date on which it is activated in your Account and will continue to be valid for so long as the Membership Fees are paid up to date and you comply with these Terms, unless your Membership is suspended or terminated earlier by you or Cineworld in accordance with these Terms.

5.8 Keeping your Account and your Unlimited Card secure. You are responsible for keeping your mobile device, log-in credentials, Unlimited Membership details and your Unlimited Card secure at all times. If you become aware of or have reason to suspect any unauthorised access to or use of your mobile device, Unlimited Card or Account, you must notify the Unlimited Helpline immediately. In the event of unauthorized access to your mobile device, you should de-activate the mobile device and activate a new mobile device to use your Unlimited Membership (your Unlimited Card number will remain the same). Cineworld will not be responsible for any loss you may incur as a result of any unauthorized use of your Unlimited Card, log-in credentials or other Unlimited Membership details.

6. Using your Unlimited Card

6.1 Cinema tickets. Your Membership entitles you to book a ticket for yourself to attend the Cineworld Cinemas included within your Unlimited Membership Group and watch:

(i) any standard 2D film screening open to the general public, in a standard seat, in a standard auditorium; and

(ii) on payment of an Uplift, any film screening open to the general public in premium format and/or auditorium such as 3-D, IMAX, Superscreen, 4DX and ScreenX screenings and/or in recliner/premium seating.

Your Membership also entitles you to book a ticket for yourself to attend and watch films at Cineworld Cinemas not included within your Unlimited Membership Group on payment of an Uplift. All tickets are subject to availability and the relevant Cineworld Cinema being open. Films screened at Cineworld Cinemas will be determined by Cineworld in its sole discretion. Occasionally, screenings may be cancelled or rescheduled or films may be substituted for an alternative film due to circumstances beyond our control.

6.2 What’s not included. Event Cinema such as live and recorded screenings of opera, theatre, sports and concerts, screenings at special events such as film festivals, premieres and private events and the price of 3D glasses are not included within your Unlimited Membership, although discounts on ticket prices for Event Cinema may be available at the time of booking.

6.3 Usual restrictions apply. All film screenings and your access to Cineworld Cinemas are subject to normal restrictions such as age certifications and Cineworld’s Terms of Entry. You have no preferential rights of access for any screenings except for Unlimited Advance Screenings which are only available to you and other Unlimited Members and tickets for these screenings will be subject to availability. You are not entitled to use your Unlimited Card in conjunction with any other promotions offered by Cineworld unless otherwise stated and the Unlimited Card cannot be used to prove your age.

6.4 Booking tickets online. You may use your Unlimited Card to book tickets for yourself online via the App or Cineworld Website. You may have up to five (5) pending online bookings for yourself using your Unlimited Card at any one time. You must be logged-in and make your booking through your Account. Bookings for Event Cinema, Unlimited Advance Screenings and tickets obtained in-cinema do not count towards your online booking allocation. Although a booking fee usually applies to Cineworld customers when cinema tickets are booked online, these booking fees will not be payable for tickets you book for yourself or other Unlimited Members when using their respective Unlimited Cards (see 6.7 below). Your booked tickets will be displayed in your Account (under ‘My Purchases’ on the App and ‘My Bookings’ on the Cineworld Website) with a QR code for scanning at the cinema. Tickets will not be issued if your Unlimited Card is invalid (see section 5.7 for more about validity).

6.5 Booking tickets at the cinema. You may use your Unlimited Card to book tickets in person at the Cineworld Cinema on the day of the performance. To obtain your ticket, you must present your Unlimited Card at a Cineworld Cinema box office, Ticket and Concessions stand or an Automatic Ticket Machine (ATM). Your Unlimited Card will be scanned to check its validity and additional identification may be requested. If your Unlimited Card is validated, you will be issued with a ticket for the chosen screening and time, subject to availability. Tickets will not be issued if your Unlimited Card is invalid (see section 5.7 for more about validity).

6.6 Only one booking for the same film at the same time. You can watch as many films as you wish, as many times as you want, except that you may not have more than one online booking for the same film at any one time or book for two films which overlap or start within 90 minutes of each other, whether those tickets are booked in cinema or online.

6.7 Booking tickets for other Unlimited Members. When booking a ticket for yourself, you may simultaneously book a ticket for each of up to five other Unlimited Members that you have added as “Friends and Family” in your Account for the same screening. Bookings for Friends and Family will be subject to the terms and conditions of their respective Unlimited Membership plans and, where applicable, payment of Uplifts, for example where the booking is for a screening at a Cineworld Cinema not included within your Friend’s Unlimited Membership Group. You may only add other Unlimited Members as Friends and Family within your Account and use their Unlimited Card to book tickets for them where they have given you permission via their own Account.

6.8 Booking tickets for those who are not current Unlimited Members. When booking a ticket for yourself, you may simultaneously book and purchase tickets for others who are not Unlimited Members for the same screening at Cineworld’s standard prices for that particular screening. A non-refundable booking fee per ticket for each person for whom a seat is booked (Booking Fee) will usually apply when booking tickets for other customers online. The Booking Fee is in addition to the price of a ticket and will be added as a separate charge during the booking process. The amount of the Booking Fee payable at the time of booking tickets is published on screen during the ticket booking process. If you do not wish to pay the Booking Fee, you may purchase tickets at the cinema in person, where it will not apply, although prices for tickets purchased in cinema may be higher or lower than those purchased online.

6.9 Using tickets at the cinema. Where you have booked tickets online using your Unlimited Card you should use the App to display your ticket(s) at the cinema before entering the relevant auditorium. Alternatively, you can access your e-tickets online in your Account through the Cineworld Website. Entrance will not be permitted unless you display a valid Unlimited Card and the relevant tickets. When attending more than one performance in a day, you must show a valid ticket for each performance, together with your Unlimited Card on request. Please ensure you arrive at the auditorium by the advertised performance time, as you may be refused admission if you arrive after the start of the feature presentation. Where you have booked tickets for others, all members of your group must be admitted into the performance together and you must be able to provide proof of ticket purchase for all members of your party. Any Unlimited Members in your group must also display their Unlimited Card as and when requested by Cineworld staff. Cineworld’s Terms of Entry will apply each time you visit a Cineworld Cinema.

6.10 Managing your ticket bookings. Bookings cannot be amended, although tickets booked online using your Unlimited Card may be cancelled in your Account through ‘My Purchases’ on the App and ‘My Bookings’ via the Cineworld Website. These cancellations may be made up to 120 minutes (2 hours) prior to the start of the booked performance provided the tickets have not already been collected at the cinema. Where you have paid for tickets or Uplifts as part of the booking, funds will usually be returned to the same payment method used to make the booking (or if not possible, on a Cineworld gift card/e-voucher, via BACS transfer or other method at Cineworld’s discretion). Please note, previously charged booking fees and any additional fees for SMS confirmation or 3D glasses will not be refunded and redeemed voucher codes cannot be re-used. Tickets purchased at the cinema, booked online without using your Unlimited Card or already collected in-cinema prior to cancellation will not be refundable.

6.11 Cancelling tickets when you’re unable to attend. If you have booked a ticket online using your Unlimited Card and you are unable to attend the screening, you must cancel your booking as soon as possible and in any case within the timeframe specified in section 6.10. Cineworld may decide, at its discretion, that repeated ‘no-shows’ is misuse of your Unlimited Membership and may result in your Unlimited Membership being suspended and/or terminated.

6.12 Managing your Unlimited Membership. You can manage your Unlimited Membership online through your Account, including changing your contact details and the payment card associated with your Account, updating your marketing preferences and making a missed payment of your Membership Fees. To change your photograph or your Unlimited Membership Group, please contact the Unlimited Helpline for assistance.

6.13 Availability of the App, the Cineworld Website and other Cineworld online services. Cineworld may make changes to the Account, the App, the Cineworld Website, the number of online tickets you can book in advance online using your Unlimited Card and withdraw or change any and all online ticket booking at any time and without notice. If you are unable to book tickets via the App and/or Cineworld Website for any reason, but you can still use your Unlimited Card to obtain tickets in-cinema and display it to validate your admission to the cinema, then your Unlimited Membership will be deemed active.

7. Paying for your Unlimited Membership

7.1 The Membership Fees that apply to Unlimited Membership are as set out on the App and the Cineworld Website. Prices include any applicable VAT. We only accept payment via one of our accepted payment methods, which include debit and credit cards (Visa, Maestro and Mastercard). You can also pay for your first/upfront payment of Membership Fees during the application process by American Express (Amex), PayPal or gift card/e-gift voucher (will need to be credited with the full value of the payment due) or promotional code but these cannot be stored in your Account to make subsequent payments of monthly Membership Fees.

7.2 The Membership Fees for the Minimum Term can be paid in advance under the Pay Upfront (3 months) Plan and the Pay Upfront (12 months) Plan, or by instalments under the Pay Monthly Plan. In each case, you are making a commitment to pay for your Unlimited Membership for the full duration of the Minimum Term that you selected when applying for your Unlimited Membership. This means that the applicable Membership Fees for the Minimum Term must be paid in full for the whole Minimum Term that applies to you (see section 7.4) and are not refundable except as expressly stated in these Terms. You may not change your Unlimited Membership Group or Unlimited Membership payment plan during the Minimum Term of your Unlimited Membership.

7.3 You must have a valid credit card or debit card associated with your Unlimited Membership (Payment Card) at all times during the term of your Unlimited Membership. This also applies where you pay your initial Membership Fees using a gift card/e-gift voucher/promotional code or charge card (Amex). This is to ensure that your Unlimited Membership continues uninterrupted, and we are able to continue taking payments for your Membership Fees, during and after your Minimum Term. You can cancel your Unlimited Membership in accordance with section 9.

7.4 Paying Membership Fees during the Minimum Term. If you choose to pay the Membership Fees for the Minimum Term with the:

(i) Pay Monthly Plan: your Minimum Term will be three (3) months and you agree to pay the full Membership Fees for the Minimum Term in three (3) equal monthly instalments during the Minimum Term, with the first payment taken from your Payment Card at the time of successful application for your Unlimited Membership and the second and third payments taken on the same day of the subsequent two (2) months. If the second or third payment date falls on a weekend or a bank holiday, or if there is no day of the same date in any month (e.g. 30 February), payment will be taken on the previous or next working day (as determined by your bank);

(ii) Pay Upfront (3 months) Plan: your Minimum Term will be three (3) months and you agree to pay the full Membership Fees for the Minimum Term in a single advance payment using your Payment Card (and/or a gift card/e-gift voucher/promotional code or American Express card);

(iii) Pay Upfront (12 months) Plan: your Minimum Term will be twelve (12) months and you agree to pay the full Membership Fees for the Minimum Term in a single advance payment using your Payment Card (and/or a gift card/e-gift voucher/promotional code or American Express card).

7.5 Automatic Renewal and paying Membership Fees after the Minimum Term. At the end of your Minimum Term, unless terminated in accordance with these Terms, your Unlimited Membership will automatically renew and continue on a month-to-month basis and you agree to pay the Membership Fees monthly at the then current standard monthly rate for Membership Fees for your Unlimited Membership Group (this applies whether during the Minimum Term you paid under the Monthly Payment Plan or one of the Pay Upfront Plans).

7.6 At least 30 days prior to the end of the Minimum Term we will contact you to remind you that the Minimum Term is coming to an end and to let you know what the new monthly Membership Fees will be. Payment for your Membership Fees will be taken monthly using your Payment Card under a continuous payment authority, on the same day of each month, being the same day of the month that your first payment for Unlimited Membership was paid. If this date falls on a weekend or a bank holiday, or if there is no day of the same date in any month (e.g. 30 February), payment will be charged by your bank on the previous or next working day. Please check with your bank for details. PayPal and Amex may not be used to pay your monthly Membership Fees.

7.7 Authority for Cineworld to charge Membership Fees to your Payment Card. By providing Cineworld with your Payment Card details when you apply for an Unlimited Membership, you are authorising Cineworld to take recurring payments for your Membership Fees under a continuous payment authority without the need for you to re-enter your payment details each time and without the need for us to obtain permission from you for each individual payment. You may change your Payment Card in your Account, provided that you allow Cineworld at least one week to process such change. At any time, only one Payment Card may be attached to your Unlimited Membership.

7.8 Uplifts may be payable. In addition to the Membership Fees, Cineworld may also charge you Uplifts where you use your Unlimited Card to book a ticket to watch a film in a format, special auditorium, seat type or Cineworld Cinema not covered by your Unlimited Membership (please see section 6.1(ii)). Cineworld may change the price and allocation of Uplifts at any time at its discretion, without notice to you.

7.9 Missed payments. Payments for Membership Fees will start processing three (3) days in advance of your payment due date. If any monthly payment is rejected or otherwise unsuccessful (including due to inaccurate or outdated Payment Card information), Cineworld will make a maximum of three (3) attempts to charge your Payment Card to take payment. If attempts to take payment are unsuccessful, Cineworld may notify you and suspend your Unlimited Membership and Unlimited Card. Cineworld will be entitled to charge our reasonable administration expenses incurred in connection with any missed payment and these must be paid at the same time as the missed payment of Membership Fees. You will be unable to use or obtain refunds for existing bookings, make new bookings, obtain tickets or enjoy Offers using your Unlimited Card until the outstanding Membership Fees are paid. Missed payments of Membership Fees must be paid online either via the App or the Cineworld Website here. The Unlimited Helpline will not be able to process any missed payments.

7.10 Non-payment of outstanding Fees. If any Membership Fees and any other sums payable by You under these Terms (Fees) remain unpaid for more than 28 calendar days after Cineworld notify you, or you seek to terminate your Unlimited Membership, except as permitted in section 9, Cineworld may, at its sole discretion, with notice to you, cancel your Unlimited Membership. If any attempt by Cineworld to charge monthly Membership Fees to the Payment Card after the end of your Minimum Term under a Pay Upfront Plan (i.e. where your Membership changes to a month-to-month Unlimited Membership as explained in sections 4.6 and 7.5) is unsuccessful, Cineworld may automatically terminate your Unlimited Membership.

7.11 If any attempt by Cineworld to charge Fees to a Payment Card on or after the due date is rejected or otherwise unsuccessful due to inaccurate or outdated Payment Card information, then once you have provided a valid Payment Card, Cineworld will charge that Payment Card for all then-outstanding Fees.

7.12 If you cancel automatic payments from your Payment Card, Cineworld may cancel your Unlimited Membership.

7.13 Cineworld may charge you, and you are responsible for, any and all outstanding Membership Fees and any expenses reasonably incurred by Cineworld in connection with your unpaid Membership Fees.

8. Changes to these Terms and Membership Fees

8.1 Increasing Membership Fees. Membership Fees may be increased by Cineworld to reflect changes in standard ticket prices, inflation, Cineworld’s costs, additional taxes and costs that are not imposed by Cineworld or where we have added new features, improved the Unlimited Membership Scheme benefits or for other business reasons. Cineworld will do its best to ensure any increase is reasonable in the circumstances (for example, if our costs or ticket prices have increased or the Unlimited Membership benefits have been enhanced, Cineworld will increase Membership Fees by a reasonable amount to reflect the increase in costs or ticket prices or to reflect the new improvements to the Unlimited Membership Scheme).

8.2 Any increase in Membership Fees will be notified to you at least 30 days before it comes into effect and the amounts charged to your Payment Card are increased. Subject to section 8.3 (VAT changes), any increases in Membership Fees will not apply to your Unlimited Membership during the Minimum Term but will be reflected in the monthly Membership Fees you pay for your Unlimited Membership thereafter.

8.3 If there is a change in the rate of VAT or any other tax, or any other tax is imposed, Cineworld will be entitled to change the Membership Fees to reflect such changes to the tax system, at any time including during the Minimum Term. This change will only affect you during the Minimum Term if you are on the Pay Monthly Plan. Cineworld will give not less than 30 days' notice of any increase and the amount to be charged to your Payment Card after expiry of such notice will be adjusted accordingly. Any other changes shall take effect as described in the remainder of this section 8.

8.4 Changes to these Terms that don’t disadvantage you. Cineworld may make minor changes to these Terms from time to time to correct errors, or clarify Terms, to comply with any law or regulation that applies to us or to update the Terms to reflect changes to the way our systems work or enhancements to the Unlimited Membership Scheme. You will not be specifically notified of such changes but they will be available on the App and the Cineworld Website. No such changes shall disadvantage you. These changes will take effect from the date of publication on the App and the Cineworld Website.

8.5 Other changes to these Terms. Cineworld may make other changes to these Terms and, if they have a real impact on you or your Unlimited Membership, then we will give you at least 30 days' prior written notice of the changes before they take effect (“Notice of Change”).

8.6 If you don't agree with the changes you may terminate your Unlimited Membership. If these changes either increase your monthly Membership Fees or are otherwise to your disadvantage, you may ask us to terminate your Unlimited Membership at any time up to 30 days from the date of the Notice of Change by contacting the Unlimited Helpline and following the steps in section 9 (Termination by You) below.

8.7 If we do not receive your request to terminate your Unlimited Membership within 30 days of the date of the Notice of Change, we will assume you have agreed to the change and your Unlimited Membership will continue on the updated Terms and, as applicable, at the increased Membership

Back to top

9. Termination by You

9.1 Your legal right to change your mind and cancel the contract. You have a statutory right to change your mind and cancel the contract for your Unlimited Membership at any time within a period of 14 days without giving any reason.

9.2 The cancellation period begins on the day your Unlimited Membership starts (i.e. when we send you the confirmation email referred to in section 4.3) and ends 14 days later (Cancellation Period). For example, if your Unlimited Membership begins on the 1st day of the month, the Cancellation Period will end at the end of the day on the 15th day of the month.

9.3 To exercise your right to cancel during the Cancellation Period, You must inform us using the contact details in section 2.5 (Contacting Cineworld) of these Terms. Using the Online Contact Form is usually the easiest and quickest method, but you can use any of the available contact methods. You can also use Cineworld’s template cancellation form here and send it to us by email or post, but it is not obligatory to use this form.

9.4 To meet the deadline for notifying us of cancellation, it is sufficient for you to send your cancellation notice before the expiry of the Cancellation Period (even if it does not reach us until later).

9.5 If you cancel your Unlimited Membership during the Cancellation Period, your Unlimited Membership will end immediately and you will lose all access to the benefits of your Unlimited Membership.

9.6 When you apply for Unlimited Membership you expressly request us to provide access to your Unlimited Membership during the Cancellation Period, and by doing so you acknowledge that you will lose your right to cancel without charge during the Cancellation Period. This means that you are still entitled to cancel your Unlimited Membership during the Cancellation Period, but your refund will be reduced to the extent that you have already made use of your Unlimited Membership before you cancel.

9.7 If you cancel your Unlimited Membership during the Cancellation Period and You have not used your Unlimited Membership, you will receive a full refund of any Membership Fees you have paid. However, if you have booked tickets or obtained freebies or discounts using your Unlimited Membership, we will reduce your refund by the amount equivalent to the usual price of any tickets issued to you, freebies and discounts on snacks and drinks you have received through your Unlimited Membership during the Cancellation Period. This means that if the price of the tickets issued exceeds the Membership Fees you have paid, no refund will be due to you.

9.8 We will pay any refund due to you without undue delay, and no later than 14 days after the day on which you notify us of cancellation. We will pay any refund due to you using the payment method registered to your Account except where you have paid using a gift card or, e-voucher in which case we will issue you with a Cineworld e-voucher credited with the amount of the refund due.

9.9 Cancellation will not affect your or our respective rights and remedies that have arisen prior to cancellation and will not affect our right to receive any money that you owe to us.

9.10 Your right to cancel during the Cancellation Period is in addition to and does not affect your legal rights in relation to faulty or misdescribed goods and services.

9.11 Medical reasons or change of residence. If you are outside the Cancellation Period referred to above, you may terminate your Unlimited Membership during the Minimum Term only where you are unable to use your Unlimited Card for a continuing period of three (3) calendar months due to medical reasons or because your permanent address has changed to an address outside of the UK, Channel Islands and Republic of Ireland (in these Terms, these reasons are called Legitimate Grounds). You must notify the Unlimited Helpline in writing of your request to terminate, stating the reason for termination and enclosing any supporting evidence. If Cineworld accepts that you have Legitimate Grounds, Cineworld will refund you an amount equal to the value of the Membership Fees you have paid in advance for the number of remaining full months of your Minimum Term after the date of termination. If Cineworld does not accept the request for termination, your Unlimited Membership shall continue in force and no refund will be issued. In the event of termination on Legitimate Grounds you may not re-join the Unlimited Membership Scheme until six months after the termination date.

9.12 Stopping your Membership from automatically renewing. If you don’t want your Unlimited Membership to automatically renew and continue on a month-to-month basis after your Minimum Term, you must let us know at least 10 days before the end of your Minimum Term by contacting the Unlimited Helpline in writing (please see Section 2.6 (Contacting Cineworld).

9.13 Terminating Your Membership for other reasons. You may ask to terminate your Unlimited Membership at any time:

(i) after the Minimum Term; or

(ii) during the Minimum Term where you are disadvantaged by changes made by Cineworld as explained in section 8 (Changes).

To terminate your Unlimited Membership, you must give notice of termination to the Unlimited Helpline (see Section 2.6 (Contacting Cineworld).

9.14 If you have the right to terminate your Unlimited Membership during your Minimum Term under section 9.13(ii) as a result of changes we have made and you have paid your Membership Fees in advance under one of the Pay Upfront Plans, you may terminate your Unlimited Membership on one month’s notice and Cineworld will refund the Membership Fees paid for any remaining full months after the termination date.

9.15 In all other cases, i.e. where you are paying Membership Fees monthly under the Pay Monthly Plan and have a right to terminate your Membership under section 9.13(ii) or your Minimum Term has expired and your Membership Fees are payable monthly (see section 7), where we receive your notice:

(i) 10 days or more before your next payment date, your Membership will end the day before your next payment is due;

(ii) 9 days or less before your next payment date, that payment will be payable and your Unlimited Membership will terminate one month later.

9.16 Cineworld will confirm your Membership termination date in writing on receipt of your termination notice. PLEASE NOTE: due to Cineworld’s current payment processes, your Unlimited Card will be deactivated automatically if you cancel your Payment Card instruction before your Unlimited Membership termination date and you won’t be able to enjoy the remainder of the current month’s Unlimited Membership you’ve already paid for.

9.17 Additionally, you may terminate your Unlimited Membership at any time if Cineworld commits a serious breach of these Terms and we will refund any Membership Fees you have paid in advance for the unexpired portion of Membership which you are then no longer able to use.

9.18 On termination, your Unlimited Card will be de-activated and any refunds due will be refunded to your Payment Card within 14 days of termination.

10. Suspension and termination by us

10.1 Cineworld may suspend your Unlimited Membership and temporarily deactivate your Unlimited Card if:

(i) Cineworld suspects that you have ceased to be eligible for an Unlimited Membership;

(ii) You miss any payment;

(iii) Cineworld suspects any fraud in any matter connected to entering into or use of your Unlimited Membership and/or Account and/or Unlimited Card, including providing false information when applying for Unlimited Membership;

(iv) Cineworld suspects the misuse of your Unlimited Card and/or your Account;

(v) Cineworld suspects that someone else has access to your Account or that your Account has been compromised in some way; or

(vi) Cineworld suspects that you are in breach of these Terms and/or any of Cineworld’s other terms and policies, including the Terms of Entry or Online Terms of Use, and/or any other contract or agreement that Cineworld may have with you.

If Cineworld suspends your Unlimited Membership for any reason, Cineworld will confirm this to you by email. The suspension will be lifted once the reason for the suspension has been resolved to Cineworld’s satisfaction. If the reason for suspension is not resolved or is not capable of being resolved to Cineworld‘s satisfaction, Cineworld may terminate your Unlimited Membership. Cineworld will be entitled to charge its reasonable administration expenses incurred in connection with any missed payments (see section 7 for further details).

10.2 Cineworld may terminate your Unlimited Membership immediately on any of the following grounds:

(i) If you cease to be eligible for an Unlimited Membership;

(ii) for your fraud (or our reasonable suspicion of your fraud) in any matter connected to entering into or use of your Unlimited Membership and/or Account and/or Unlimited Card, including providing any false information in the application process;

(iii) in the event of misuse of your Unlimited Card and/or your Account;

(iv) if you miss a payment and fail to make that payment within 28 days of a request from Cineworld to make it, or if you miss more than one payment;

(v) Your serious breach of these Terms and/or any of Cineworld’s other terms and policies, including the Terms of Entry or Online Terms of Use, and/or any other contract or agreement that Cineworld may have with you; or

(vi) if you engage in (or we have reasonable cause to believe you may engage in) any behaviour or activity that is disruptive to or damaging to any Cineworld business or operation, process or practice or the safety or comfort of our staff, customers or other visitors to our cinemas.

10.3 If Cineworld terminates your Unlimited Membership under section 10.2, Cineworld may keep any Membership Fees that have been received. Where you chose to pay your Membership Fees under:

(i) one of the Pay Upfront Plans, Cineworld may refund any Membership Fees paid in advance for any full Unlimited Membership months after the termination date but shall be entitled to retain a fair amount to reflect the loss to Cineworld from terminating your Unlimited Membership in such circumstances;

(ii) Pay Monthly Plan, Cineworld may charge you, and you are responsible for, any and all outstanding Membership Fees and any expenses reasonably incurred by Cineworld in connection with your unpaid Membership Fees.

These rights do not limit any other rights Cineworld may have against You.

10.4 Where Cineworld has accepted your application and confirmed your Unlimited Membership (see section 4.3) but there was a pricing error in the application process which you could reasonably have recognized as a pricing error, Cineworld may terminate your Unlimited Membership by giving you written notice and refund you any sums you have paid for the Unlimited Membership.

10.5 On termination, your Unlimited Card will be deactivated but your Account will remain active and you will able to continue using it to enjoy the benefits of your free My Cineworld membership, unless Cineworld chooses to close your Account for reasons associated with the termination of your Unlimited Membership.

10.6 Cineworld may terminate, withdraw or suspend the Unlimited Membership Scheme, and your Unlimited Membership, at any time for any reason on reasonable notice in writing to you. In certain circumstances, it may not be possible to give advance notice, such as where Cineworld is required to terminate, withdraw or suspend the Unlimited Membership Scheme to comply with applicable law or regulation. Cineworld will refund the Membership Fees paid by you in advance for any remaining full months after the termination date.

11. Questions and complaints

11.1 If you have any questions or complaints in relation to your Unlimited Membership please contact the Unlimited Helpline.

11.2 If we are unable to resolve any issues for you, or you are unhappy with the outcome, you may request that alternative dispute resolution (“ADR”) is used. ADR is a process for resolving disputes between you and us that does not involve going to court. We will provide you with the name and website address of an ADR provider that would be competent to deal with your issue. If you make a request for the dispute to be settled by ADR, we will consider whether or not we wish to participate in ADR, but we are not obliged by law to participate. If you do not wish to use ADR, you can still bring court proceedings (see section 14.1 for more information).

11.3 If you are resident in the Republic of Ireland: the European Commission has established a website for online dispute resolution (ODR) which is available at www.ec.europa.eu/consumer/odr/, and which is designed to assist consumers in resolving disputes online without having to go to court. Our email address for the purposes of the ODR is [email protected].

12.2 It is your responsibility to keep your Contact Details up to date throughout your Unlimited Membership, as we will use these details to contact you about your Unlimited Membership and we will not be responsible for matters arising from errors or omissions in your Contact Details at any time.

12.3 You can update your Contact Details at any time in your Account or by contacting the Unlimited Helpline.

12.4 We will usually contact you by email although we may get in touch by phone or post if we need to.

12.5 Our Privacy Policy provides details of how we collect and use your personal information, and the choices you can make about how your personal information is used. We use personal information to allow us, our agents and sub-contractors who are working on our behalf to process your application and payment of Membership Fees and to provide you with the Unlimited Membership services and any other products or services you request.

12.6 We will use your Contact Details to send you service and membership communications, including information about your Unlimited Membership such as renewal reminders, account information and membership summaries, changes to Unlimited benefits and, from time to time, freebies for Unlimited Members and other information related to your Unlimited Membership (find out more in our Unlimited FAQs). 13. Cineworld's Liability

13.1 Cinema closures. Cineworld Cinemas may be closed on a permanent or temporary basis from time to time, such as for refurbishment or due to reasons outside of our control (as described below). Details of such closures can be found on the Cineworld Website or by calling the Unlimited Helpline.

13.2 Your statutory rights. We have a legal duty to supply goods and services that conform with the contract. Consumers also have certain legal rights when purchasing goods and services. These are often referred to as “statutory rights”, as they are derived from laws such as the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing in these Terms affects these rights and nothing in these Terms is intended to limit or exclude our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. In particular, we do not limit or exclude liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors.

13.3 Limiting our liability. Except as stated in section 13.2, we will not be liable under or in connection with these Terms (howsoever arising and including as a result of breach of contract, tort (including negligence) or statutory duty) for any loss or damage in circumstances where:

(i) there has been no breach of a legal duty of care owed by us;

(ii) the loss or damage was not caused by us breaching these Terms;

(iii) the loss or damage was not, at the time you agreed to these Terms, a reasonably foreseeable consequence of us breaching these Terms (loss or damage is “foreseeable” if either it is obvious that it will happen or if, at the time you agreed to these Terms, both of us knew it might happen);

(iv) the loss or damage was caused by an event or circumstance beyond our reasonable control such as natural disasters, industrial action, terrorist attack, riots, epidemics, any law or any action taken by a government or public authority or closure or limited access to Cineworld Cinemas on the grounds of Cineworld’s reasonable health and safety concerns, shortage of supplies, staff or essential utilities or services; or

(v) you could have avoided the loss or damage by taking reasonable action.

13.4 Cineworld’s liability under or in connection with these Terms, including for its breach of these Terms, is limited to the price of 12 months’ Unlimited Membership for your current Unlimited Membership Group as published on the App or Cineworld Website at the time of the incident giving rise to such breach.

13.5 In the event you are unable to book a ticket online using your Unlimited Card due to any technical reasons, tickets can be booked in-cinema. Cineworld will not be responsible for any such technical failures.

13.6 Cineworld will not be responsible or liable to you for any booking or ticket you are unable to use as a result of, or any replacement or other ticket you purchase due to or in connection with, an invalid or suspended Unlimited Membership or Unlimited Card or unauthorized access to or use of your mobile device or Unlimited Card.

14. General

14.1 These Terms and your Unlimited Membership and any disputes or claims arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes or claims) are governed by the laws of England and Wales and you can bring proceedings in the English Courts. However, if you live in Scotland, the Republic of Ireland or the Channel Islands the relevant local law will apply and you can choose to take action against Cineworld in your local courts.

14.2 Cineworld does not accept amendments by you to these Terms.

14.3 You may not transfer any of your rights or obligations under these Terms or your Unlimited Membership to another person without Cineworld’s prior written consent. Cineworld can transfer all or any part of its rights or obligations under these Terms and your Unlimited Membership to another organisation but Your rights under these Terms and your Unlimited Membership will not be affected.

14.4 If your Unlimited Membership is terminated by either party for any reason, neither party will lose any rights which have already accrued.

14.5 If, at any time, Cineworld does not require you to comply with any part of these Terms, this will not prevent it from doing so in the future. For example, we might not immediately chase you for not doing something (like paying), or for doing something you're not allowed to do, but that doesn’t mean we can't do it later.

14.6 If any part of these Terms is disallowed or held to be ineffective by any court or other competent body, the rest of these Terms will not be affected.

14.7 The contract for your Unlimited Membership is between you and us. Nobody else can enforce the contract and neither you nor us will need to ask anybody else to sign-off on ending or changing the contract.

14.8 If there is a conflict or inconsistency between these Terms and any of the other terms referred to in section 3.1, the provisions of these Terms will take priority to the extent necessary to resolve the conflict or inconsistency.

18. Unlimited for less than the price of 2 tickets per month

Where we state “Unlimited membership costs less than the price of 2 tickets per month”, “You only need to go to the cinema more than once a month to get your money back” or similar, we mean the Unlimited monthly Membership price for the relevant Cineworld Cinema is less than cost of 2 visits per month to the same cinema based on an in-cinema standard peak price adult 2D ticket for a standard screening in a standard auditorium in a standard seat. Uplifts are payable for some screenings, formats, special seating and facilities. Price and choice of cinema varies depending on the Unlimited Membership Group chosen.

19. Recommend A Friend Offer: Pay-Monthly Members

1. The Recommend A Friend Offer (the "Offer") is open to existing Unlimited members whose accounts are valid and fully paid at the time of the recommendation ("Members") and who have a My Cineworld account.
2. Members will qualify for the advertised one month's free membership ("Free Month") if the friend ("Friend") that they have recommended (a) is eligible to join the Unlimited scheme in accordance with the Unlimited Card Terms and Conditions, (b) is subscribing to the Unlimited scheme for the first time, (c) successfully completes the online application process using the relevant Offer code, and (d) has successfully paid for and remained with the Unlimited scheme for the first 90 days of their subscription.
3. A Friend that is subscribing as part of the Offer will automatically qualify for their 4th month of Membership (or 13th month of Membership, if they paid 12 months upfront for their Membership), as long as they subscribe online using the relevant Offer code, and remain a fully paid up member for their minimum contract term. .
4. For Pay-Monthly Members and Pay Upfront (3 Months) Members. The Free Month will usually be applied automatically to qualifying Members' accounts within 6 weeks after the Friend has paid for and completed their first 90 days' subscription (unless the Member is in their first three (3) months of membership, in which case the Free Month will be applied after the expiry of their first 3 months of paid Membership, or a little later once the Friend’s 90 day subscription period has been completed). Members must not cancel their Membership Fee payment for the free month(s) – the relevant direct debit or card payment will be waived automatically and, unless Members have qualified for more than one Free Month, normal payment will be resumed in the following month. Cancelling a direct debit or continuous payment card arrangement will result in the automatic de-activation of Unlimited Cards and loss of any accrued Free Months.
5. The Free Month for Annual Members or Pay Upfront (12 months) Members. The Free Month will be noted against qualifying Members' accounts within 6 weeks after the Friend has paid for and completed their first 90 days' subscription and will be applied automatically after the end of the paid-for 12 month period (or a little later once the Friend’s 90 day subscription period has been completed). For example, if a Member makes 3 successful recommendations within their paid-for 12 month period, their subscription (and for those Members with a digital membership, their Minimum Term) will automatically extend for an additional (free) 3 months after the end of the 12 month period. The Member’s account must be live at the time the Free Month is due to be applied as Free Months cannot be applied to Member’s accounts once their membership has expired.
6. Where Members have qualified for more than one Free Month, each Free Month will be applied in accordance with clause 4 or 5 above and, where a number of successful recommendations have been processed at or around the same time, Free Months will be applied to Members' accounts on consecutive months.
7. Members will be sent a confirmatory email from Cineworld following each successful recommendation containing details of how the Free Month will be applied to his or her account. Members should ensure the contact details provided to Cineworld are up to date.
8. All outstanding balances on accounts must be paid in full before Free Month/s will be applied. 9. Free Months will not be applied retrospectively, cannot be exchanged for cash, cannot be transferred, and cannot be used to reduce any outstanding charges owed by Members or the Friends that are recommended to Cineworld.
10. Any expiry or termination of a Member’s Unlimited subscription (for whatever reason) or deactivation of the Unlimited Card will result in the loss of any Free Months accrued on the Member’s account and no refund will be given.
11. The Offer code will be valid for an unlimited number of uses. However, Members may only be awarded and benefit from a maximum of 12 Free Months each year, even if the Offer code has been used in connection with more than 12 successful recommendations in that period.
