Now that 20th Century Fox’s reign has ended and Disney’s Marvel Studios is very firmly at the helm, expectations are high for the X-Men reboot in 2028.
By then, it’ll have been nearly a decade since the last X-Men film, Dark Phoenix in 2019. The reboot promises a newer, younger, fresher team of mutants, and we’ll be so ready to meet them.
The intrigue and excitement swirling around the cast reveal has been palpable. Speculating and then witnessing the casting of younger versions of older characters from such a well-known multiverse has been pretty special.
Marvel Studios did not disappoint. The cast of the X-Men reboot was confirmed at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan event, as covered by Cineworld.
Truly innovative choices have been made. Breakout stars such as Obsession’s Inde Navarrette are a case in point. After breaking out in a surprise hit, she’s now part of the Marvel universe, joining the X-Men as Rogue.

What do we know about the X-Men reboot storyline?
We know Wolverine’s not going to be in it. It’s a bold decision, and one that legions of fans welcome. Why? Because it’s all about the core team, and their dynamic will be given the space it needs.
For the reboot, the emphasis is on youth. Marvel has confirmed it’ll be more character-driven and explore coming-of-age themes. And while we don’t know precisely what the storylines will be, we do know that the creators don’t want a repeat of any of the story arcs we’ve already seen.
Who is in the cast of the X-Men reboot?
