This is the way to watch The Mandalorian & Grogu – and feel the force in IMAX, 4DX, SCREENX, and Superscreen

In The Mandalorian & Grogu official trailer we glimpse the arena combat, worlds populated with enormous creatures and droids, and battle scenes that move from the ground into space. There’s no doubt director Jon Favreau’s vision firmly belongs on the big screen, even though the story itself is a follow-on from the TV series with the dream team that is Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and Grogu. We can’t wait to see what new adventures they’re about to take.

Under Colonel Ward’s (Sigourney Weaver) instructions, Din and Grogu’s job is to head off another galactic war. The pair are on a mission. Which all means we must prepare ourselves because baby Yoda has grown. He can handle himself. And that means jeopardy. We’re used to seeing Din Djarin protecting Grogu and can’t help but feel excited and trepidatious about what’s in store. He’s so little. And so close to the ground. Cue heart-in-the-mouth moments at the thought of the Hutt clan towering over him.

We must stress at this point that if anything happens to that little guy we will not be happy. We cannot deal.

There’s no escaping the danger and threat when you see the movie in IMAX

Watching in IMAX the world will feel massive, and the threat levels and sense of danger increased. The stakes heighten, almost unbearably so. Imagine as the fleet arrives in a thundering rush, and the Razor Crest fly low – those shots of space alone will be jaw-dropping. Before you get too swept away, you’ll suddenly feel a rising terror as Imperial walkers come into view from across the snowy landscape…

Go along for the ride with 4DX

It’s not just your eyes and ears that engage in a 4DX screening, your whole self will too, with every blast and explosion. The vibration and movement you see on screen will be felt through your seat, meaning you’ll feel like you’re flying with Grogu in the high-speed chases and trying to get the better of the Dragonsnakes in a fight.

Never take your eyes off Grogu in a SCREENX showing

Whichever size screen you see him on, Grogu piloting his hover pram will look small, vulnerable and brave. On a super-sized SCREENX the view will be panoramic at times, as extra screens are projected at the sides. Watching him swoop across the panoramic screen, a little dot in an even vaster space, will properly tug at the heartstrings. Not to mention amp up the jeopardy and the feels even more!

Take one bold step up from 2DX and watch in Superscreen

A Superscreen is bigger, but the film still feels contained. The action is scaled up, but not to the point of overwhelm, or like you need to dodge a flying vehicle or lurching creature. The dialogue and music are great but won’t feel like it’s swamping you. In short, you’ll feel nicely tucked into the world, but not like you’re rattling around in it at risk from Rotta the Hut or a rogue beast.

Whichever format you watch Grogu on, it’s Grogu!

How is our little green sprite? How he has grown! What is he minxing around with? He still swipes snacks and cutely coos but he’s also pushing control buttons he shouldn’t and generally striking out on his own. This we have got to see. But we reserve the right to cover our eyes during the battle scenes.

Now you’ve prepped and know what format you want to watch The Mandalorian & Grogu in, book a ticket today and start counting off the days until you can see Din and Grogu and their beautiful bond in action. Grogu may be small, but his big-screen presence is mighty, whatever format you see him in.
