In The Last Viking, two brothers search for a long-buried, long-forgotten heist haul. After serving 15 years for the robbery, Anker reunites with his brother Manfred and wants to know where the stolen treasure is. But Manfred has forgotten. He also thinks he’s John Lennon.
Outrageous mayhem concerning a bunch of misfits ensues as the two brothers journey through Manfred’s many psychological issues and their childhood traumas. Hilarious, grisly, intriguing and dark it is, but always treating its characters with a warm, never cold, heart.
Sounds good! Let’s look at what our Unlimited screening audiences thought of this intriguing Danish film, which got to watch it early and, judging from the comments, are feeling delighted they did…
This will be the surprise movie of the year

Funny weird & beautiful in equal measures
Thank you for the music… & Ikea
One Cineworlder was so inspired she felt she had to pay homage to the Danish-Swedish co-production, and then to all things Swedish – like it, Emily, nice one!
I mean, we love a surprise at Cineworld (that’s why we have Unlimited screenings) and The Last Viking didn’t disappoint.
I had no clue what the film was about before it started! What a ride 🙌 pic.twitter.com/njg0mds5Wx

Thought it was hilarious and very entertaining. Great story and full of surprises, was never quite sure where it was going but enjoyed the ride.

Really good! Funny, violent and wacky!
— Tam Honks (@ManiacCop3) June 16, 2026
That’s a strong review, Tam Honks, it wouldn’t look out of place on The Last Viking marketing poster!
Meanwhile, Nikkipedia loved all the layers of psychology the story took us through. That’s what’s so great about reading everyone’s comments after an Unlimited screening – seeing people’s differing perspectives on the same film is wild.
Loved it. Childhood trauma and its implications on later life, coupled with accepting people as they are. V affecting

I loved the films exploration of our perceptions of others, how we are perceived, and how we perceive ourselves. It was darkly humorous at times. Excellent performances from the cast. Plenty of interesting twists and turns too adding a lot of depth to the characters and story.

Thanks for that Joseph. We want to go see it even more now.
And sometimes, it just takes two words to make us want to go and see a movie: ‘Just wow!’.
Just wow! Just desserts as well. Loved it.

Very good film, funny yet sad, bitter but sweet and occasionally brutal. Great performances from the cast

And a big up to Unlimited screenings too:
Hilarious in parts and deeply moving in others. One of those films I enjoyed a lot more than I expected to and will stick with me. Great Unlimited Screening choice!
