In his stirring new drama The Boys in the Boat, George Clooney dramatises the true story of the University of Washington rowing team. In 1936, the team went on to compete at the Berlin Olympics in front of Adolf Hitler and his Nazi forces, making history in the process and entering the record books.
A talented cast assembles under Clooney's assured direction including Callum Turner and Joel Edgerton, the latter of whom plays the team's gruff captain (is there any other kind?) The Boys in the Boat previewed for Unlimited members and we've rounded up just a few of their reactions. Is it an oar-some success? Read on to find out.
It was absolutely FANTASTIC. But I might be biased as I’m in it…. I play the guy in the white lab coat who, 90 mins in, donates a dollar to Tom Varey in the fund-raising montage. Great fun!

I enjoyed it, though felt like I had rowed the Olympic race by the time it was over! Exhausting! 😂

Didn’t know the story but it was nicely told. Nothing too over the top, no special effects - just a nice Sunday afternoon film. 🚣
Not knowing about the story, I didn't even realise it was true. Proper feel good, against the odds, uplifting sports movie, just what I needed in my life right now.
