Comedy-drama The Book of Clarence offers a wry twist on the Gospels and showcases an all-star cast. LaKeitth Stanfield leads the ensemble as Clarence, a would-be prophet who aims to capitalise on the teachings of Jesus to raise his own standing.
Needless to say, things don't turn out as expected in the latest movie from stylish director Jeymes Samuel (The Harder They Fall). Expect a mixture of heartfelt emotion and irreverent humour, plus a cast of standout players including RJ Cyler, David Oyelowo, James McAvoy and Benedict Cumberbatch.

I loved it! LaKeith Stanfield is obviously stellar but the rest of the cast knock it out of the park too!

a much more thoughtful and emotional film than i had expected from the trailer. like Life of Brian and Dune it shows how dangerous blind obedience can be, but also what true heart-led change looks like. Michael Ward and Anna Diop were superb, and the score/songs were fire!

Excellent film even though Life of Brian is a better parody pic.twitter.com/BbfPssSEhb

It was an interesting film, though slow to start and a bit uneven. I was expecting a straight up parody of biblical epics but it surprised me by having a quite heartfelt faith driven third act (though still with humour) Great performances and beautifully filmed.

I thought it wpuld be an out and out comedy, but it was more. Superb cast and surprisingly emotional at times.
