You can now book your tickets for Captain Marvel, the next instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
The movie stars Brie Larson as the eponymous superhero, an intergalactic Kree warrior locked in conflict with the villainous Skrulls. However, she in fact began life as human Air Force pilot Carol Danvers, and must come to terms with her past as the fate of the world hangs in the balance.
Directed by Half Nelson filmmakers Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden, the movie is set to introduce the most powerful character in the MCU so far. It's also the first MCU movie to take place in the 1990s, allowing for plenty of nostalgic references (watch out for Blockbuster Video's appearance), while also introducing a younger Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson, de-aged via CGI).
Captain Marvel is the penultimate film in phase 3 of the MCU, setting up the title character's role as the possible saviour of the Avengers in April's Avengers: Endgame. The all-star supporting cast includes Rogue One's Ben Mendelsohn, 20th Century Women's Annette Bening and Crazy Rich Asians' Gemma Chan.
