After no shortage of rumours given the monumental success of Top Gun: Maverick, we now have it confirmed that a third Top Gun film is in the works, and our heads are absolutely spinning (barrel-roll style) over what it might entail.
As of yet, very little is known about the film other than the fact that Tom Cruise will be returning to play Maverick, which is good because there would likely be a riot involved if he didn’t. Of course, we’re also holding out hope that we see Miles Teller back as Rooster, and we’d love to see Glen Powell’s Hangman given more screen time after he more than proved himself to be a leading man and all-around hunk in Edgar Wright’s The Running Man.
We could continue to speculate but we’d be here all day, and given that Top Gun 3 hasn’t even started filming, it’ll likely be some time before we see the next chapter in the saga. If the very thought of Tom Cruise stepping back into the cockpit has you giddy, you’ll be glad to know that you don’t have to wait to see him again on the big screen as we’re celebrating the 40th anniversary of the original Top Gun here at Cineworld.
