A teaser for the long-awaited Spinal Tap sequel has landed – watch it here!

It's time to crank those anticipation levels up to 11, because the long-awaited sequel to Spinal Tap is coming to cinemas THIS YEAR! Can't believe it's actually happening? Well, a teaser video has just been released, and while it only lasts 30 seconds or so – and doesn't provide any details about the movie beyond what we already know – it's sure to get fans of the classic mockumentary franchise all hot under the collar.

Released in 1984, the Rob Reiner-directed This Is Spinal Tap followed a fictional heavy metal band as they toured the United States. Featuring larger-than-life characters such as David St Hubbins and Nigel Tufnel, exploding drummers, plus a whole host of quotable one-liners, it became an instant cult favourite – and its popularity hasn't waned in the 41 years since it came out. Indeed, fans of the film have been eagerly awaiting a sequel.

Now, that moment is finally on the horizon, with Spinal Tap II: The End Continues due to land in cinemas on 12 September. Also directed by Rob Reiner, and featuring most of the original cast (including Reiner himself as filmmaker Marty Di Bergi, it'll see the iconic rockers reuniting for one final gig. With the same team of writers, and rumoured appearances by the likes of Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John and Metallica's Lars Ulrich, it should be lots of fun.
