The Autobots and Decepticons will return in the next instalment of the planet-pummelling Transformers franchise. The seventh instalment in the series is officially titled Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, and filming is now underway.
Creed II's Steven Caple Jr. is directing, and the exciting cast is led by In the Heights' Anthony Ramos, and Judas and the Black Messiah's Dominique Fishback. Michael Bay, who helmed all the Transformers movies except for 2018's Bumblebee (that was helmed by Travis Knight) remains on board in a producer capacity. A suitably steely logo has also been revealed for your attention.
Here's the official debrief: "Returning to the action and spectacle that first captured moviegoers around the world 14 years ago with the original Transformers, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a ‘90s globetrotting adventure and introduce the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons to the existing battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons. Directed by Steven Caple Jr. and starring Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fishback, the film arrives in cinemas summer 2022."
