Back in 2017, Illumination animation Sing proved to be a surprise box office hit. The endearing story of entrepreneuring Koala bear Gus Moon (voiced by Matthew McConaughey) struck a feel-good chord with families, no doubt bolstered by a top-flight voice cast including Scarlett Johansson, Taron Egerton and Reese Witherspoon.
All of the aforementioned actors are back in next year’s sequel Sing 2, and we’ve got a new trailer lined up for your viewing pleasure. As we pick up with the anthropomorphic ensemble, we discover that Gus’ dreams haven’t gotten any smaller. Instead, he’s planning the ultimate musical talent show in the glamour capital of Redshore City. There’s just the small matter of convincing music megastar Bono to join Gus' crew and make it all possible. Here's the new poster.
Letitia Wright, Eric André, Pharrell Williams and Bobby Cannavale are among the new recruits to the voice cast. Despicable Me and Minions creator Chris Meledandari is producing, as before, and director Garth Jennings also returns. Check out the trailer below. Sing 2 is released in Cineworld cinemas on 28th January 2022.
