The school summer holidays are upon us and that means fun family times at Cineworld. The big screen is the perfect place to reconnect and rekindle that sense of childlike wonderment, and we've got a host of fun films for you to enjoy. Scroll down to find out more including details of the Cineworld Family Ticket.
1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (released July 31st)
Teenager-in-an-adult-body Seth Rogen reboots the origin story of the heroes in a half-shell. The much-loved comic book franchise, which has already spawned a TV series and several movies, gets a Spider-Verse-style animated makeover as the goofy teenage turtles face a dangerous New York threat.
All the familiar faces are here flanking the heroic quartet of Raphael, Donatello, Michaelangelo and Leonardo. Jackie Chan voices the turtles' rat master Splinter and other big names include Rogen himself, John Cena, Ice Cube, Rose Byrne and Paul Rudd.
2. Gran Turismo (released August 11th)
The hugely successful gaming franchise races onto the big screen in a blur of action and motion. Rising star Archie Madekwe plays the gaming addict who wins the opportunity to race in a real-life Gran Turismo scenario. However, this is real life, not a simulation, and the stakes are far higher.
David Harbour and Orlando Bloom lend scene-chewing support in this pedal-to-the-metal actioner.
3. Haunted Mansion (released August 11th)
Disney's famous theme park attraction inspired one Eddie Murphy adaptation in 2003. Now, the enjoyably spooky ride gets a fresh lick of paint in the form of this new movie, which gathers together a starry ensemble including Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Lakeith Stanfield and Oscar winner Jamie Lee Curtis.
4. Blue Beetle (released August 11th)
The DC Extended Universe has one more new character to spring on us before James Gunn reboots the franchise. Cobra Kai star Xolo Maridueña plays the bookish student whose encounter with a mystical scarab invests him with all manner of remarkable super-human powers.
5. Elemental (on release now)
Disney-Pixar's lush visual style is very much on display in this arresting and affecting story of how opposites attract. Set in the world of Element City, Elemental explores the burgeoning attraction between watery Wade Ripple (Mamoudou Athie) and fiery Ember Lumen (Leah Lewis).
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (on release now)
There's still time to catch this visually stupendous and exciting comic book blockbuster, which mashes together more Spidey characters than you can shake a web-shooter at. Brimming with the possibilities of the multiverse, Across the Spider-Verse sets up the next must-see chapter, Beyond the Spider-Verse.
